Plant Genomics at MSU REU Undergraduates 2006 at graduation partySummer 2006 Program

Our first summer REU (research experience for undergraduates) program ran during the summer of 2006. A total of eight undergraduates from Fort Valley State University, Calvin College, Ohio Wesleyan University and Michigan State University conducted research in five of the collaborating laboratories. Their projects included computer simulation of metabolic flux data, development of metabolic labeling methods, analyzing knock out mutants in chloroplast proteins of unknown function, screening for mutants in lipid and fatty acid metabolism, and development of high throughput methods for measuring photosynthetic parameters.
